Downtown Women’s Center 2017

I had the joy of documenting the women and many activities at the Downtown Women’s Center again this year. I took portraits and candids primarily in their Day Center, where volunteers served hot meals to the women, and inside the women’s apartments. Founded in 1978, the Downtown Women’s Center is dedicated to addressing the needs of women overcoming poverty and homelessness in Los Angeles’ Skid Row neighborhood with permanent supportive housing, job training, their creative social enterprise MADE by DWC, and many other programs.
